The 2006 Region VI Outstanding Alumna This is an annual award presented to an alumna in Region VI. One who never hesitates to volunteer to help with or to organize a project. One who clearly lives the Delta Zeta creed, giving graciously, not for recognition, but in response to a desire to give back to her sorority. Congratulations to Karen Miron, Zeta Nu (Ferris State University) Initiate, for being chosen as the 2006 Region VI Outstanding Alumna Award Winner! Karen was nominated by her chapter at Ferris State University. The 2006 Region VI Outstanding Alumna, Karen Miron, was nominated by her collegiate chapter. She was President of her college chapter and joined her local alumnae chapter. Serving in many positions, she eventually became the president of the alumnae chapter, a position in which she now serves. She has attended several National Conventions, serving last June as the delegate for the Grand Rapids Alumnae Chapter. She was the Development Chairman for the Great Lakes Area before being recruited to serve as the National Alumnae Philanthropy Chairman. A pharmacy major at Ferris, she is employed as a pharmacist and helps citizens understand the complicated issues of choosing the right health plan for their needs. She has two grown children. Zeta Nu, Grand Rapids Alumnae and her daughter can call her a Sister, but her grandson calls her Grandma, and she’s fine with that. “Mrs. Karen Miron is an inspiration to all of us Delta Zetas at Ferris State University. She has dedicated so much time and help and we can never thank her enough. She is annually involved in Initiation, Alumnae Tea, and any other rituals or ceremonies that we have. Karen truly defines what an Outstanding Alumna should be, and lives it through her daily life. We are very proud to say she is a Sister.” Congratulations Karen!
