Lucile Crowell Cooks – Mella Cooks Davies Alumnae-Collegiate Chapter Relations Award - This award was established in 1974 in honor of our former AAD Mella Davies and her mother Lucile Cooks, and is given to an alumnae chapter and a collegiate chapter for outstanding alumnae-collegiate programming and contributions and support.  This year’s winners participated in a joint volunteer night at a local food bank, celebrated Founders’ Day together and matched new members with alumnae in their “Alum Chum” pen pal program.  In addition to serving as CCDs and advisors, alumnae participated in Initiation, assisted with recruitment, provided monetary support during recruitment week, led an etiquette capsule for active members and attended the chapter’s Big Man on Campus philanthropy event.  There were certainly multiple viable candidates for this award, but the winning chapters went above and beyond when the collegiate chapter planned a joint philanthropy activity for the local Founders Day event in which collegiate and alumnae members decorated CD cases that were sent to the Painted Turtle camp.   For the 2^nd year in a row, congratulations to this year’s winners, the Columbus Alumnae Chapter and Theta Chapter at The Ohio State University for OUTSTANDING alumnae-collegiate relations.
